Short Films for the People! The Finnish film institution "Elokuvakontakti" organises an event called Short Films for the People! or Lyhytelokuvia kansalle! in Helsinki at the end of August 2006. Films will be screened in local bars and Alright Love participating in barhopping in Punavuoren ahven, Café Carusel and Valtteri. Check out the entire schedule here.
97 000 viewers in Finland! Yle, the Finnish Broadcasting Company, screened Alright Love in April 2006. The film got a nice reception with the above mentioned 97 000 viewers as well as a very flattering review from the radio station Yle X. English summary: "Alright Love is a fairy tale for adults. The film is a good example of the beauty of simplicity. The short film is sympathetic, uncomplicated and genuine. It makes you smile and laugh. The actors Valerie Lasserre and Tim Sander are radiant in their fantastic leading roles. The music by Moritz Denis and Eike Hosenfeld gives the perfect final touch to this enchanted film.
Arte Screens Alright Love! Alright Love was screened on TV channel Arte in March 2006, which resulted in positive feedback from viewers in Algeria, for instance.
Alright Love in Karachi! The univesal theme of Alright Love was appreciated as far as in Pakistan. As a result of a lucky coincidence, Jörg was abl to attend the local film festival and represent our team.

Kettupäivät Short Film Festival in Helsinki! Cinema Andorra hosts Kettupäivät starting on November 9th 2005 and Alright Love has two screenings during the festival: Opening screening on November 9th at 15 and another one on Friday 11th at 17. Magnificent!
Alright Love Wins the Prix du Public in FIDEC Belgium! The audience of FIDEC - the fIlm festival held in Huy, Belgium at the end of October 2005 - voted Alright Love as their favourite. Thank you, you lovely audience!
Samuli Valkama's Children's Book Published in Finland! "Kaisa Lipposen ihmeellinen matka" (In English: The Amazing Journey of Kaisa Lipponen ), a children's book by the director and screenwriter of Alright Love, Samuli Valkama, has been published in Finland at the beginning of October. You can visit the website www.kaisalipponen.net to learn more and especially to see some images. The book is available in all major book stores in Finland.
Alright Love Receives Jury's Special Award in Santiago! On October 22nd 2005, Alright Love was awarded with the Prix de Burbujas, the special award of the jury of Curtocircuito, the international shortfilm festival of Santiago de Compostela, for a unique audiovisual experience. The jury was impressed by the capacity of the film to tell "a warm and touching story full of humour told with images and without dialogue". Samuli's first visit to Santiago was thus wonderful: in addition to the prize, he enjoyed the warm atmosphere, Spanish hospitality and the impressive architecture of the city!
Alright Love Chosen as the Best Short Film in Hungary! Alright Love was chosen as the best short film in Miskolc, Hungary at the International Festival of Young Filmmakers held between October 3rd and 9th 2005. Népszabadság, a hungarian newspaper wrote the following about the film: "A kisjátékfilmek közül egy habkönnyü komédia, a finn Samuli Valkama Allright Love címü müve futott be. Ez egy férfi és egy nö egymásra találásának a története, amelyhez számos véletlenre, már-már kisebb csodára van szükség - humoros karcolat a nagyvárosi emberek viszonyairól." (Hopefully it does not mean anything bad…)
3rd Prize in Lithuania! Alright Love received the 3rd prize in Lithuania at the Tinklai International Short Film Festival held in September 2005.
London Debut in Beyond the Valley Shop in October! Alright Love is showcased in Beyond the Valley shop in London. The mission is to "launch 25 of the most promising young Finnish designers in the UK. Debut work on show/sale includes fashion, illustration, product design, film, jewellery and photography". The address of the shop is 65/69 Broadwick St, London and it is open daily from 12 –18 during the time period of October 10th–29th 2005.
Love & Anarchy Starts on September 16th 2005! Helsinki International Film Festival - Love & Anarchy starts on September 16th. You have the opportunity to see Alright Love on Thursday 22nd of September in Maxim 2 at 17:15. The film is also projected daily on the large outdoor screen located next to Vanha, the Old Student House, in the city center.
Fresh Film Fest Double-Awarded Alright Love! Alright Love had a good week at the Fresh Film Fest held in Karlovy Vary, Czech republic, in August. The Audience voted the film as their favourite and the jury gave it a special mention. Thank you!
Audience Award for Alright Love in Lucania Italy! Alright Love was voted for the best short film by the audience of the Lucania International Short Film Festival held in Italy August 12th–14th 2005. All we can say is: Thank You, Italy! The jury decided on the winner by selecting the film Little Terrorist by Ashivan Kumar from India as the best short fiction film.
Second Place in Chicago's Nextframe Film Festival! The jury of the NextFrame Film Festival in Chicago awarded Alright Love with the second place in the narrative category.
Visiting the Hamburg Short Film Festival! Alright Love and team visited the Hamburg Short Film Festival in the beginning of June 2005. People seemed to like the film, but no prizes were received this time. However, the festival selection included great films such as Arkar by Karin Karlsson and Mita Moberg, Le droit chemin by Mathias Gokalp, Viernes by Xavi Puebla, Nachmittagsprogramm by Lola Randl, and Silhouette by Hesham Fathy.
Third Prize in Cellu l'Art Film Festival! Alright Love was awarded with the 3rd prize at the Cellu l´art film festival in Jena, Germany on the 22th of May. The prize is a small glass statue! Please go and read more at the festival website: www.cellulart.de
Tens of Alright Love Badges Stolen during MOA 2005! In addition to the official screenings during the MOA 2005 festival in Helsinki, Alright Love was also shown in its own stand decorated with a large number of popular Alright Love badges. After the event, not a single one was left!

Alright Love is the winner of the Berlin Today Award! After receiving positive audience reactions and promising feedback after the world premiere of the film, Alright Love proved to have convinced also the jury. Alright Love was declared the winner of the Berlin Today Award by the jury member Hannes Stöhr during the Awards Night at the Kalkscheune. in addition to Stöhr, a german film director, the jury consisted of producer Roshanak Behesht Nedjad and director Andres Veiel. Their laudatio: "We all know the story Boy meets girl but this one is extremely funny and magic. Excellent directed, excellent actors, excellent camera work, excellent sound design. A magic love story told without dialogues, just pictures and sounds. We all know how difficult that is. Congratulations."
